There is a moment every fall when you pull on your first pair of boots of the season and feel ready for anything. Our women's boots, with a solid selection of men's boots alongside them, are chosen to give you that moment again and again: boots that look good with jeans, skirts and dresses, keep your feet cozy, and do not need half an hour to get on.
Women's boots for fall and winter
Ankle boots lead the collection, with side zips, fold-over cuffs, lace-ups, block heels, flat soles and pointed toes, including a lace-up pair with a playful cat print and a leopard print flat. Knee-high riding boots with a buckle, slouchy mid-calf boots and Western-inspired styles bring height and a little drama, and they look wonderful with a midi dress and a long cardigan. For the coldest days, faux fur-lined and cuffed women's winter boots keep the chill out.
Black, brown and dark brown lead the colors, with blue, beige and red for something bolder. Most pairs come in US sizes 7 to 10, many go smaller or larger, and every product page lists the sizes for that pair.
Chelsea boots, booties and orthopedic styles
Chelsea boots, with their elastic side panels, slip on in seconds and come in styles for her and for him, including suede-look versions. Booties with a stacked heel or a wedge sit between a shoe and a boot, and they look great with cropped pants, a sweater and a crossbody bag for a day of errands in town. Several pairs are sold as orthopedic boots for women, with features you can see, like a low heel, a side zip or a fold-over cuff.
The orthopedic knee-high riding boots with buckle and the orthopedic ankle boots with fold-over cuff are two good places to start. For him, about a third of the collection, there are lace-up work boots with a lug sole, Chelsea boots and side-zip boots in brown and black, with more styles in our men's shoes.
How to choose fall boots for women
Think about what you will wear them with. Ankle boots go with nearly everything: jeans, wide-leg pants, midi dresses. Knee-high boots look best with skirts, dresses and slim pants tucked in. If you walk a lot, choose a low block heel or a flat sole, and a side zip so they go on and off easily. For cold mornings, look for a lined boot with a sturdy sole, and leave a little room for warm socks.
Whichever pair you choose, women's boots are easiest to love when they match your real week. Wear your fall boots for women with our dresses or under one of our coats and jackets, and check our size guide before you order.
Questions about our boots
How do I choose my boot size?
Each pair lists its US sizes on the product page. Measure your foot in the evening, when it is a little larger, and compare with our size guide. If you plan to wear thick socks, keep that in mind, and email us at contact@clovermae.com if you are unsure.
Are the orthopedic boots medical boots?
No. Orthopedic is simply the name some of our boots are sold under. It points to features you can see on the product page, like a low heel, a side zip or a fold-over cuff. They are not medical devices, so if you have a foot condition, ask your doctor or podiatrist what to look for.
Can I return something that doesn't fit?
Yes. Our Returns & Exchanges page explains each step in plain English. Write to us first at contact@clovermae.com and we will guide you through it.
Boots are the shoes that make the cold months something to look forward to. Pick the pair you would wear on the first crisp morning, and enjoy the season.
